IS GOD A GAME SHOW HOST?

BROTHER SEAN ASKED ME IF I EVER HEARD OF A STEVE GREGG… ON HIS TEACHING ABOUT ROMANS 5:12. HERE IS MY REPLY:

@seanwilbur  Steve Gregg, huh, never heard of him. I woke up this morning thinking about how many of us toss around names of bible teachers — Sproul, MacAuthur, Calvin, etc. and so forth…. but hardly anyone say’s “Did you see what Paul had to say?”
But we should. As Paul is the apostle for the nations. And Galatians 1 & 2 reveals a big tiff between Peter and Paul… with “certain men came from James” tossed in to makes the fight even more dynamic.
Guess what… Paul took ’em all on…. and beat the crap out of ’em.
Yeah Paul. God’s man of GRACE.
Paul says over and over… GRACE TO YOU.
I’ve noticed over the years, when I say GRACE TO YOU to the brethern in the Baptists, charismatic, whatever, churches, they take a step back… kinda freaked out about it.
I believe it’s because they know intuitively there’s something about GRACE that would blow their theology away.
They are not very GRACE oriented… they are… very… very… very… when you think about it… WORKS oriented. They might disguise their works mentality… but it’s not hard to see through it.
Notice how many times Paul says AM I SAYING THIS — GOD FORBID.
And when he says GOD FORBID… I think he’s really saying KNOCK IT OFF, DON’T GET SIDE TRACKED, STICK TO MY POINT, OR I’M GONNA PINCH YOUR NOSE.
“Should we continue in sin that grace may abound?” GOD FORBID –DON’T MISS MY POINT YOU SILLY BIRD.
Name one preacher in today’s world who could be even slightly accused of saying that GRACE SUPEREXCEEDS…
Yet Paul did.
And if GRACE really means FAVOR GRANTED TO ONE WHO DESERVES THE OPPOSITE OF FAVOR… then–all these preachers who preach that salvation is CONDITIONAL… CONTINGENT and UNCERTAIN… would secretly hate Paul and his message of grace.
And to prove to you that many preach that salvation is conditional, contingent and uncertain… behold:
“Grace is available…. IF”
“Salvation is offered… IF””Salvation is possible… IF”
It’s an IF, THEN, message.
Very uncertain.
And WHO pray tell, could make salvation CERTAIN? — The freewiller says the sinner, bound by sin, ruled by death (mortality) has the final say in his own salvation, and thus makes this uncertain salvation certain.
Do you see the absurdity in that proposition?
I’m sure Paul teaches that salvation is the work of God. And that even faith is a gift from God. After all… Paul boldly says in several places… ALL IS OF GOD.
(ACTS 17:22-34, ROMANS 11:36, II COR 5:18-19)
To say that salvation-grace is “available” IF you do this, that, and the other thing, is really a WORKS message.
God will favor you IF you do this.
God will favor you IF you do that.
And so on.
That means… IF you do this, that, and the other thing, GOD IS OBLIGATED TO SAVE YOU. GOD IS RESPECTING YOUR GOOD CHOICES. SALVATION IS A DEBT OWE TO THE SINNER FOR HIS CORRECT BEHAVIOR.
GOD IS A GAMESHOW HOST.
It’s a shameful teaching really.
But Paul teaches that — Salvation is the work of God.
And all human destiny is “contingent” only on the purpose of God. Nothing else.
The redeemer redeems.
The savior saves.
Our only contribution is to be in need of redemption and salvation. Nothing more.
What Adam (the first Adam) did… Christ (the last Adam) more than undoes.
Anyway, thanks for letting me bend your ear about these things.
Grace to you.

AFTER LISTENING TO STEVE’S BIBLE TEACHING REGARDING ROMANS 5…

DEAR STEVE,
I FINISHED watching your video… good job. You were not the typical GRANDSTANDER I see among many preachers.
So glad for that.
However… you did not see what I see… the answer to the difficulty of Romans 5:12-21 is in verses 18-19… so many preachers hop over those two verses. They just don’t believe God’s work in Christ’s cross will justify all humanity and all life. Oh my.
There are some brothers with youtube channels who embrace Christ’s accomplishments on the cross resulting in the justification of life… and the justification of all. Like Michael L. Knotts, Martin Zender, Ace Theo, Mortal Fury, etc.
Those guys LOVE Romans 5:18-19… LOVE IT.

Regarding 5:12… The Concordant Literal New Testament has helped me see it this way…. Mortality (death) passed through into all mankind, and mortality is why we sin. Because the baby can and sometimes will die, too young to have sinned. The baby was born mortal… i.e. dying.

The Greek mythology of their “immortal gods” misbehaving with lusts, and anger, etc… proves they did not understand mortality… if one were truly IMMORTAL one could not sin. And in that great day, when God abolishes the last enemy (death) no one will be able to sin again. We will be made alive, like Christ, beyond the reach of death. And death’s influence. See ( I Cor 15:20-28) One day, this mortal shall put on immortality, says Paul.

Again… I think you did a good job in this video… but I was hoping you’d hop on down to the glorious verses of 18-19… as they answer so many, many questions for everyone.

Grace to you.
ACE.

Romans 5:18-19

18 Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people, so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people. 19 For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.
