TWO NEGATIVES IN THE GREEK NEW TESTAMENT

…it might interest you to know that there are two negatives in the Greek of the New Testament.

One is an absolute negative.

The other is a relative negative.

You can see both used in Romans 8 in the opening verses…

NOTHING (the absolute negative) is condemnation to those in Christ…

They are NOT (the relative negative) walking according to flesh.

— ’cause sometime we do walk according to the flesh… but absolutely speaking – nothing is condemnation to us.

Just thought you’d like to know.

ROMANS 8:1

Nothing, consequently, is now condemnation to those in Christ Jesus. Not according to flesh are they walking, but according to spirit,
