There are plenty of scriptures for those too old to cut the mustard… to give them comfort in thinking, they’ve finally entered a place where they no longer piss God off.
There are plenty of scriptures to give comfort to the wild and crazy among us, too young to put those hormones in check.
But these days I like those scriptures which speak of God, His purpose, His character, what He is doing, who He is.
You say— “But ye must do thus and so..”
I say — “God is the savior of all.” (I TIM 4:10)
You say — “But ye must do thus and so..”
I say — All is out of God, through God and for God. (Romans 11:36)
You say — “But ye must do thus and so..”
I say — “God is love.”
You say — “But ye must do thus and so..”
I say — God was in Christ conciliating the world to Himself. (2 COR 5: 19-20) Not counting their offenses to them.
You say — “But ye must do thus and so..”
I say — as John the baptist, “Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world”
You say — “But ye must do thus and so..”
I say — Jesus is a friend of sinners. (Matt: 11:19… Luke 7:34)
You say — “But ye must do thus and so..”
I say — God has a purpose. (Eph 3:11)
You say — “But ye must do thus and so..”
I say — “We would see Jesus.” (John 12:21)
You say — “But ye must do thus and so..”
I say — God will be all in all.
You say — “But ye must do thus and so..”
And the beat goes on.
What about God? His purpose? His character? What He is doing? And who He is?
Why is man’s will more important than God’s will. After all, God wills to save all (I TIM 2:4)
Doesn’t God have a “freewill”? Doesn’t God get what he wants?
Why does man get what he wants but God, (the “Creator of all” and the “Savior of all,”) not get what he wants?
Only God has true free will. This is the ability to do all what divinity desires to do, which requires omni presence, and omnipotence, and omniscience. This is the divine nature.
By contrast, man only has a SLAVE will, which is limited by limited presence, limited power, and limited knowledge. This is the human nature.
